We’re happy to share that researcher Julia Stefanello Pires has contributed the chapter “Leading Climate Cases against Corporate Actors: Understanding Business Accountability for Human Rights Impacts Related to Climate Change” to the new volume Climate Justice – Resisting Marginalisation.
The book, edited by members of the first cohort of the FAU International Doctorate Programme „Business and Human Rights: Governance Challenges in a Complex World“ (IDP) Eklavya Vasudev and Marie-Sophie Keller, and Siddharth Peter de Souza, emerged from an interdisciplinary conference that convened scholars, activists, and practitioners worldwide to examine the evolving dimensions of climate justice.
In her chapter, Julia examines how corporate actors are being held accountable for their contributions to greenhouse gas emissions and related human rights impacts, using case law and secondary sources.
The collaborative volume as a whole critically examines how climate change exacerbates existing forms of inequality, particularly for marginalized communities worldwide and how movements across the world resist these dynamics.
The book is available open access via Cambridge University Press: Read it here
