Chair of International Business, Society and Sustainability

Our work advances interdisciplinary social science research on sustainable development, business, and human rights, with a focus on environmental governance. We study how international business can be more just and sustainable, engaging with environmental justice, corporate accountability, political ecology, and global supply chain governance. A key focus is supply chain regulations, especially human rights and environmental due diligence (HREDD) laws, analyzing policymaking, institutional design, company compliance, and impacts in Global South production sites. Methodologically, we combine interviews, observation, document and discourse analysis, surveys, transdisciplinary approaches, and network analysis. Research centers on Latin America and Europe, with comparative studies elsewhere.
