Adiba is part of the International Doctoral Programme on Business and Human Rights at FAU and joined the Chair of International Business, Society and Sustainability in November 2025. She holds a B.Sc. in Business Administration (minor in Economics) from Ithaca College (USA) and an M.A. in the Research Training Programme in Social Sciences from Humboldt University of Berlin (Germany).

Her doctoral research, “Reimagining Labour Governance through a Worker Well-Being Approach: A Case Study of the Bangladeshi Garment Industry,” re-conceptualises well-being from below through the lived experiences of female garment workers in Bangladesh. Using qualitative methods and a comparative case study of workers in high-compliance and subcontractor factories within the same industrial area, the study examines how workplace and community contexts shape women’s capacity to achieve well-being. It contributes to debates on the governance of work and well-being in global production networks.

Adiba’s academic interests are shaped by her commitment to ensuring dignified livelihoods and advancing evidence-based approaches to labour governance. With over 12 years of work experience in this field, she has collaborated with diverse stakeholders and conducted practice-oriented research on workers’ voice, grievance mechanisms and women’s empowerment.
