Ana Paula López Minchán is part of the International Doctoral Programme on Business and Human Rights at FAU and joined the Chair of International Business, Society and Sustainability in November 2025. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Geography and Environment and an MSc in Water Resources Management from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru.
Her doctoral project, “Governing Mineral Supply Chains: Human Rights and the Role of Mining Companies in Latin America,” examines, through a historical perspective, how formal and informal arrangements interact to shape the governance of mineral supply chains in Peru. She is particularly interested in how due diligence mechanisms take shape on the ground and what they imply for the mining ecosystem, including both large-scale and artisanal and small-scale mining.
She ultimately aims to bring local community perspectives into policy debates on fostering dignified life in mining territories while reducing socio-environmental injustices.
